Buying a new car is a serious job that requires a ton of research. Many people want to keep things simple and remain within their set guidelines, while others are far more willing to have a little bit of fun with the process. Those that are flexible may be inclined to look into some interesting options for their car, and while this may jack up the price, they are still willing to pay a little more for what they want.
Over time, we have seen some great features that have become integral parts of cars. However, there have also been some car features that are laughably bad. In fact, some of these features still exist today, and they only serve to add more to the final cost of the purchase.

15. Viewing Suite

A viewing seat is something that is not found in too many rides, and this is for good reason. It is a feature that people will almost never use, and the people that do are going to look awfully silly in a parking lot. It is more money for absolutely no reason.

This seems like a good idea, but this is totally useless. Being able to control things on the infotainment system without actually touching it changes nothing, and if the gesture doesn’t work, then a person will be even more distracted by trying to get the system to do what they need it to.
13. Moisture-Sensing Wipers

Some people actually like this feature, but we can’t stand it. Honestly, how hard is it to just turn on the windshield wipers? This feature can come in handy at times, but for the most part, it does what it wants and does not always get the job done effectively.
12. Cabin Lighting System

This seems to be a feature for people that think their car is way cooler than it actually is. Sure, seeing pictures of this is nice, but imagine actually driving around in a lavender-lit interior. The novelty will wear off in no time and leave people’s pockets a little lighter.
11. Massage Seats

Have we really come this far? Seats need to be comfortable, but this is so silly. Why in the world would someone need a massage while driving? This seems like it would be more distracting than anything, and we cannot fathom why someone would pay extra for this particular feature.
10. Glass Shifter

Shifters aren’t meant to look pretty, but some people just can’t help themselves. While they should look nice and fit in with the interior of the ride, some people want to up the ante and spend money on a glass shifter. It’s a total waste that makes does not make the car look boujee.
9. Panoramic Glass Roof

We get the people do like the outdoors, but what purpose does this actually serve? Seeing a sunroof on a car is nothing new, but people have taken this to another level and have gotten panoramic glass roofs added to their ride. It’s not like they can actually enjoy the view.
8. Soft Close Doors

This is something that can also be found in kitchen cabinets, so there’s that. Soft close doors aren’t exactly an important feature to have in a car, and spending extra for this on a ride makes no sense. Doors have closed just fine for years, so why spend the extra cash?
7. Diamond Stitching

Some people get way too interested in the interior look of their ride, and they wind up going overboard with things. This type of diamond stitching for leather seats does not make this look or feel like it’s something special. It’s something people may notice once and not even comment on.
6. Automatic Doors

Again, this is something that most people do not need at all. If this does make life easier on a certain portion of the population, then we get it. However, the people that get this simply because they want it or find it interesting should consider wasting their money elsewhere.
5. Rear Seat Entertainment

This was all the rage back in the day, and it seems to be something that has managed to stick around. We get that the kids need to be entertained, but can’t they just read a book during the daytime? Maybe have them bring some toys, or, you know, actually talk to them.
4. Concierge Lighting

Many people want to feel like a celebrity, and concierge lighting is meant to help people feel special. Having a nicely lit path as they exit the vehicle is cool the first time, but it gets old quickly. Any cash spent on this could have been used to do just about anything else.

Where do we even begin with this useless feature? Obviously, this is something that few people are actually going to pay for, and we still have to question the ones that actually go through with this. Is it really that hard to just bring cold drinks along for the drive?

The roofs of cars do not need to be changed or tampered with in any way, but some people just cannot help themselves. This roof lighting is just tacky, and people actually spend their money on this. Imagine driving around and having a car look like something from A Night at the Roxbury.

Many people feel that this is the way of the future, and in a way, they aren’t wrong. Being able to have our cars drive us would be ideal, but at this point, the technology is imperfect. People that spend extra for this are getting something that still needs a bit of refinement.
