A lot has been leaked about the Galaxy Z Flip; The name, the specs, pictures, and a bunch of other stuff. But this is the mother-lode. These leaks come from reputable leaker, Rolan Quandt of WinFuture, who says that the Galaxy Z Flip is designed for social media lovers, and especially Instagram. This was already apparent when initial reports, back when it was called the Galaxy Bloom.
In the article, we quoted DJ Koh, CEO of Samsung Mobile, who said that the inspiration for the Z Flip was Lancôme compacts. He also mentioned that the product would be aimed at 20-something women.

Roland goes on to say that the Galaxy Z Flip has a movement range of between 70 and 110 degrees. That accompanied by a 6.7″ FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 22:9 aspect ratio makes it quite interesting because to me, a 6.7″ display is super long. I mean, look at this picture of the phone and tell me that isn’t huge?
The display is also a combination of Infinity Flex and Infinitiy-O as it features the a similar 10MP front facing camera to the Note 10 lineup. While we’re on the display, it supports HDR10+ and the screen is ‘reportedly’ protected by a layer of glass called “Ultra Thin Glass” which makes it more durable than the Galaxy Fold’s display. Well, that’s what the leaks suggest anyway. What it is in reality, we’re not sure yet. On the flipside (lol) there’s a 1.06″ 300 x 116 Super AMOLED display on the front of the foldable. The phone also comes in both Black and Purple variations.
Now on to the internals. The leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0-based internal storage with no MicroSD expansion. A little disappointing it’s not using the latest Snapdragon 865, but I have no doubt it’ll be powerful enough to handle whatever’s out there right now. It also comes with a fingerprint reader on the side, a 3300mAh battery which supports up to 15W quick charge, which isn’t great, but oh well.
In terms of cameras, the Galaxy Z Flp has a 12MP dual pixel f/1.8 with another 12MP ultra wide-angle f/2.2 camera added on. The last thing he mentioned, arguably the most important, is the price. He says that the Galaxy Z Flip might cost you EU 1,500 (~RM 6700) or more. That’s still a high price but I’d say much more reasonable than the original Fold’s RM8388 price point. Well none of this is officially confirmed as of yet, and we’ll be getting more information at their Unpacked even in February.
