But today do not talk about these, only about two attention-grabbing products - Thor Black Knight DQ27F165L and with it using the same Quntron K7E panel Skyworth F27G4Q, I call the "beggar samurai".

The Skyworth F27G4Q (later referred to as "Beggar Samurai") is clearly positioned as an entry-level gaming monitor.

Comment: Because the two samurai are using the same original panel, so it is really difficult to distinguish between them in terms of picture quality, and the look and feel is very similar. The picture is clear and bright, the colors are vibrant and accurate, and the color transition is natural and smooth. And K7E natural eye protection properties, the picture will look very comfortable, very suitable for people who need to face the computer for a long time to use.
Perhaps some attentive partners have noticed that the picture of Black Knight looks like a little bit yellowish? In fact, this difference is caused by the default color temperature of the two machines is not the same. The default DCI-P3 standard color temperature of the Black Knight is 6400K, which is warmer than the standard D value of 6500K, while the default color temperature of the Beggar's Knight is 6800K, which is cooler than the standard D value, so it looks a little more blue. If the Black Knight manually increases the brightness of the blue pixels and raises the color temperature to the same 6800K or so, I believe the two monitors will have the exact same picture. So if we say just in the default factory mode, and must be divided into high and low, who has a better picture quality view? This I'm torn, but ultimately I will vote for the beggar samurai (is not very surprised?) .

The OSD menu control of ▲Beggar Samurai uses button operation, although the feel is okay, feedback is also fast, but compared with the five-dimensional rocker of Black Knight, not a half-star difference.
The newest addition to the lineup is the OSD menu, a familiar black-on-white, proper pure public version of the universal OSD with basic picture quality options and function adjustments.
It's not that the male generic OSD is bad, but in many cases it will be missing some important adjustment options.
For example, beggar samurai as a game monitor, but there is no game auxiliary function, really let people speechless.
There is also a more serious absence, or falsification, regarding the switching of sRGB mode.

The best use of this item in the OSD is the default "warm color temperature" or "user".
4. Brightness and contrast
Beggar Samurai is not as bright as the Black Knight, but the contrast is much higher than the Black Knight.
Black Knight's contrast is low because of the double gamut reduction limit, beggar samurai did not do anything, natural performance to better.
5. Brightness uniformity

6. Color accuracy

In some less important details, such as appearance, workmanship, materials and brackets, Skyworth F27G4Q is indisputably weaker than Black Knight across the board; however, in terms of core competitiveness, that is, screen image quality and gaming performance, Skyworth F27G4Q has not shrunk or given way in the slightest. As I said, in the default mode, it even has a better viewing experience than Black Knight by virtue of its color temperature advantage. More importantly, the unbeatable price advantage.
If Thor Black Knight has been selling 1399 debut price, then in front of its light, beggar samurai will not have any purchase value, after all, a good bracket are more than 100 bucks. But history is not if, 1399 black samurai has passed with the wind, the subsequent batch has increased the price to 1699 yuan, with the beggar samurai between the 1299 yuan there is a huge gap of 400 yuan, has accounted for the beggar samurai whole price of 1/3, which will have to make people think about it.
To be fair, I'll consider spending 1299 to buy a K7E original panel + good factory calibration + regular manufacturer's three-year after-sales and warranty, I'm not losing money, after all, Taobao on their own DIY set of the same screen to get down to a thousand dollars, plus the cost of asking people to do tuning, all add up to close to this price.
