Harry Potter fans mock JK Rowling's latest Dumbledore revelation
JK Rowling has spoken extensively about the relationship between Harry Potter characters Dumbledore and Grindelwald, previously confirming that Dumbledore is gay.
On the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Blu-ray, Rowling can once again be heard talking about the romance.
“Their relationship was incredibly intense,” says Rowling, according to Radio Times. “It was passionate, and it was a love relationship. But as happens in any relationship, gay or straight or whatever label we want to put on it, one never knows really what the other person is feeling. You can’t know, you can believe you know.
“So I’m less interested in the sexual side – though I believe there is a sexual dimension to this relationship – than I am in the sense of the emotions they felt for each other, which ultimately is the most fascinating thing about all human relationships.”
While fans have praised Rowling for introducing an LGBT character into the fictional wizarding universe, they have consistently questioned why the author has not shown the "intense" relationship on screen or in the books.
As such, the new comments have been mocked by fans on Twitter, with people asking for Rowling to instead show the romance rather than just talk about it in interviews. They also criticised Rowling for continually adding to the Harry Potter canon - another example being when she revealed Hogwarts did not have toilets.

Whether a love scene between the pair will appear in the films remains to be seen. Fans do know, however, that they will end up duelling in 1945, as detailed in the Harry Potter books.
