After two months, I came to the Golden Whip Rock in Qingcheng Mountain again. The first time I came here was to visit Master Du, a Taoist practitioner living in seclusion in the mountain, and this time it was the same.
Listen to Master Du said he recently changed a place, because the previous residence next to many local homes, not quiet enough, he moved to a higher point in the mountains, where almost off the beaten track, not disturbed by the outside world, and a better environment.
Master Du's new residence is still near the Golden Whip Rock, according to his description of the location along the mountain road to find.
I remember the last time I came it was a rainy and snowy day with hazy scenery in the mountains, this time the weather was clear and the scenery was very different from the last time.
Looking up at the Golden Whip Rock behind me, towering under the blue sky, which was hidden in the rain and mist last time, I finally saw its real face this time.
Halfway along the secluded path to the mountainside, two large white geese crouched in the shade of the forest.
I remember hearing Master Du say before that he was going to raise two big geese, so I guess this is where he lives.
This place is one step closer to the Golden Whip Rock, just below the cliff, you can see the craggy peaks of the Golden Whip Rock, full of lush greenery, and the legend of the God of Wealth Zhao Gongming hiding the Golden Whip at the Golden Whip Rock gives the aura of the immortal mountains, this place can be considered a unique place for cultivation.
Sure enough, Master Du lives here.
The living conditions here are much worse than before, there is no electricity, gas, only two small rooms, but may be with the Golden Whip Rock as a neighbor, but Master Du is very fond of here.
One of the rooms was arranged as a study by Master Du, because he loves reading, majored in Dan Dao, studied Taoist Danjing texts, especially the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine, he used the thinking of the Tao Te Ching and Yin Fu Jing to interpret the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine, and applied it to human body cultivation and health care, which has his own unique insights.
The location of the study is excellent. Through the window by the desk, you can see the Golden Whip Rock outside at a glance, and it is also the direction of sunrise, which is very wonderful.
Master Du said there is almost nothing to come here, very quiet, very suitable for meditation and reading, no electricity, he often lit candles at night to read alone late into the night.
Like most practitioners, they stay away from the city and live in seclusion in the mountains, not liking to be disturbed by the outside world.
But to enter the mountains and live in seclusion and practice is not to avoid the world. In the "Baopu Zi", it is said, "There is no Tao in the mountains and forests, but the ancient monks must enter the mountains and forests because they want to violate the clamor and keep their hearts unrested."
Master Du said that it is important to interact appropriately with the outside world while cultivating internally, and the same goes for people living in the city. While it is important to interact with the outside world, it is also necessary to examine one's inner self, and in Taoist terms, one should not be alone with yin and yang, because alone yin is not born and alone yang does not grow.
The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine says: "Yin and Yang are the way of heaven and earth, the outline of all things, the parent of change, the origin of life and death, and the house of the gods." All things cannot violate the law of yin and yang.
It was noon time, just like last time, Master Du prepared lunch in advance, two plates of boiled potatoes, a plate of yellow essence, a bowl of glutinous rice, and a bowl of green plum juice with honey, a seemingly simple vegetarian meal, but the combination is very elaborate.
Potatoes and glutinous rice are the staples, plum juice is the dipping sauce, while the herb yellow essence becomes a small dish here.
Potatoes nourish the stomach, glutinous rice nutrition, plum juice has the effect of regulating intestines and stomach, potatoes and glutinous rice dipped in plum juice, unique taste, this is the first time I have seen this way of eating.
Master Du said the plum juice was still brewed by him five years ago, and it really tasted mellow and rich.
There is more than one kind of yellow essence in the plate, there is chicken head yellow essence, there is also the ordinary yellow essence after nine steaming and nine sunshine, there is also the honey yellow essence with maltose and honey, listen to the master Du said honey yellow essence is his master secret recipe to make, into the medicine is better than ordinary yellow essence.
We talk about Taoist food therapy from ingredients, which is a non-negligible element of the practice of health care link. The five tastes of food are closely related to the five organs of the human body, as detailed in "Suwen - Xuanming Wu Qi", "Ling Shu - Five Tastes" and "Ling Shu - Five Taste Theory" of the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine.
The Taoist diet is based on the seasons, environment, and physique, in order to follow nature and the unity of heaven and man, thus achieving the purpose of health maintenance. Master Du believes that it is important for those who cultivate internally to know about food therapy.
After lunch, I proposed to go up to the Golden Whip Rock again to see, because the last time after the rain and snow to the top of the scenery is not satisfactory, I wonder what the top of the mountain on a clear day and what?
Master Du said he was willing to accompany, and before he left he changed the position of the yellow essence drying on the balcony.
Master Du usually concocts some yellow essence in addition to studying and meditating on alchemy, which will bring him a little financial income.
He said the concoction of yellow essence is very labor-intensive, first to go to Zhao Gong Mountain to find fresh yellow essence, and then back after nine steaming and nine drying process concoction, tedious and time-consuming, so usually not much production, are others ordered in advance.
The reason why he chose to live in seclusion here, in addition to the quiet environment, there is another reason is suitable for drying yellow essence.
Because of the abundant light here, coupled with the dense spiritual energy of the Golden Whip Rock Immortal Mountain, perhaps adding a spirituality to the medicinal power of the yellow essence, it can be said that the Golden Whip Rock is a soul-like existence for the yellow essence made by Master Du.
The early summer afternoon sun was a bit sunny, but it still didn't affect my enthusiasm to climb the Golden Whip Rock. Even though I was walking on the already familiar path, I was still full of anticipation and longing, even though I already knew the journey ahead.
The visual experience on a clear day is different. The Golden Whip Rock, a wall-like cliff standing under the blue sky, is so unreachable.
Near the pass, the distant view across the Golden Whip Rock, the rolling hills, layered, you can see the Buddhist Heavenly Kingdom Mountain.
Above the pass, the peaks on both sides are covered with vegetation, remembering that the last time I visited the snow-capped peaks are now lush and green.
A tall, upright tree on the side of the road stands alone in the forest, and Master Du told me that it was a chestnut tree, the wood used for the eaves of the main hall of the Qingcheng Mountain's Shang Huang Guan.
Chestnut trees grow slowly, so the age of the tree is very rare, chestnut wood is strong and resistant to corrosion, the Shang Huang Guan has a history of more than a thousand years, those made of chestnut gables also withstood the test of a thousand years?
Golden Whip Rock Peak, no longer as white as last time, through the bushes, you can see the direction of the back of Qingcheng, Master Du said from here you can also see the Tai Qing Palace.
Next to the connected peaks standing between the green hills, hanging steeply and straight, the exposed rock wall is a hundred feet high, which is considered strange, dangerous and incomparably spectacular. One can't help but marvel at the nature's magic work.
In fact, the Golden Whip Rock does not refer to a mountain peak, but the general name of the cliffs here, at the top of the Golden Whip Rock cliff, there are more than 10 peaks of various sizes and rock ranges arranged together for 10 miles, and each of them has a name.
The Golden Whip Rock is also not only the legend of Zhao Gongming, the God of Wealth, hiding the golden whip, there is a Xuan Yuan Peak between the peaks of the Golden Whip Rock, and the top of Xuan Yuan Peak has the "Xuan Huang Terrace", which is said to be the place where the Yellow Emperor Xuan Yuan taught the Way.
Perhaps there are legends about the other peaks, but do not know, they are also almost all cliff tops, no way to go, but a few mysterious.
From the Golden Whip Rock down the mountain, and then back to Master Du's residence, the time is not early, and Master Du farewell, continue to go down the mountain back to the road.
What I didn't expect was that on the way, I unexpectedly met an immortal nun who was traveling in Qingcheng Mountain, an old Taoist priest in her 70s, and sat for a while under her warm invitation.
I saw that she looked young and had a brisk gait, and learned that she was good at traditional fitness and health practices such as Tai Chi, Five Animal Play and Eight Duan Jin. Unfortunately, it was getting late and I had to rush back to Chengdu, so I would have to come back another time to ask her for advice.
