Located in the Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve in southeastern Jilin Province, Changbai Mountain Tianchi is a border lake between China and North Korea, with each side owning a portion of the water. In 1910, the second year of the Qing Dynasty's Xuan Tong, that is, 1910 A.D., the Changbai Province on the southern slope of Changbai Mountain, Zhang Fengtai, a member of the Changbai government, compiled the "Changbai Hui Zheng Lu", the infestation of the Tianchi monster, also made a detailed record. He wrote: "Sixty years ago ......"

Note that he was writing sixty years ago, that is, sixty years ago in 1910, which is more than one hundred and seventy years ago.

From the 1960s to the 1980s, reports of the Tianchi water monster began to proliferate.

On October 9, 1980, the Guangming Daily published an article about the "Tianchi Water Monster Sighting", which referred to the author's intention to sit at the top of Tianchi to watch the sunrise, but accidentally found a swimming object on the distant lake, the size of a bull, with a head as big as a basin, and swimming particularly fast, trailing a long trumpet-shaped water line behind it.

Immediately after the "Guangming Daily", "People's Daily" and other major media have also begun to publish articles related to the Tianchi water monster.

The earliest sighting of the water monster was in August 1962, when someone with binoculars spotted two water monsters chasing each other and swimming on the surface of Tianchi.

In August 1976, a group of tourists from Beijing sat on the ground and were having a picnic when they saw the water monster lying on the edge of the pool behind a jagged rock, with its eyes fixed on the crowd at hand, it heard a shriek, leapt up and jumped into the water with a swoop.

September 26, 1976, Yanji County, the old man ditch Taohu communal nursery director and nursery workers, such as a total of 20, 30 people, in the Tianwen Peak saw a monster about two meters high, as large as a bull ambling on the shore of the Tianchi rest.

On August 21, 1980, someone found a trumpet-shaped broad scratch line in the center of the Tianchi, the tip of which sometimes reveals a large black spot in the basin, and sometimes reveals a trailing poke-shaped body. Two days later, another sighting was made of a 1-meter-long neck and part of the forehead exposed in the water more than 40 meters from the sighting on the 21st.

On June 17, 1981, at 2:40 p.m., five people, including Li Changyou, the chief of Heng Shan Police Station of Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve Administration, were taking pictures of the mountain when one of them was surprised to find, through binoculars, a water monster about 2 meters long, floating on the surface of the water as if it was sunbathing.

At 8:00 a.m. on June 30, 1985, Ms. Wang Qi, a Chinese American, and seven other people climbed Changbai Mountain. They were looking down at the Tianchi Pond from the right side of Eagle's Beak Peak to view the natural scenery. At about 9:00 a.m., Ms. Wang Qi overheard a bubble of water rising from the surface of the pond, which then spread in a circle of ripples in all directions, followed by the spine of an animal showing through the water. At around 9:25 a.m., it gradually dived into the water.

At 6:20 a.m. on August 5, 1986, Mr. Feng Wen, Director of the Tourism Bureau of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, noticed a brownish-yellow object diving into the water at Tianwen Peak, while its head and neck were raised up! That head was about 1 meter out of the water.

One morning in August 1988, several soldiers of the Fusong County Border Guard Force patrolling by the Tianchi River, also happened to find a wide and thick water line in the water surface of the Tianchi River, and the water line is very long, seems to have animals swimming back and forth for more than an hour ......

In August 1995, the miracle appeared again, visitors found a monster burrowed out of the water and quickly disappeared. At the same time, the soldiers of the Fusong County Border Guard Brigade on the Western Slope had also found the monster burrowing out of the water three times.

July 7, 2005, Fusong County, Jilin Province, a person named Zheng Changchun travel here, inadvertently found the water surface of the Tianchi presented a strange black shadow, the moment was taken into his camera. Although some people thought that it was just a piece of wood floating on the water, but Zheng Changchun firmly believe that it was a creature ......

In the 33 years since the discovery of the Changbai Mountain water monster, there have been more than hundreds of sightings, but still no sign of what the water monster really is.

What does the Tianchi water monster really look like?

According to the information provided by people in these sighting reports, the shape of the Tianchi water monster varies widely. Some describe it as a dragon with a square top and horns and a long neck, while others compare it to a monster with a head as big as a cow, a body as big as a dog, and a mouth as big as a duck. In order to study the Changbaishan Tianchi monster, solve the mystery of the world, the Changbaishan Nature Reserve Authority also set up a special exhibition room of the Tianchi monster, the history of the present-day findings and records are all organized and published, drawing the flow of the monster curve, and according to the description of people sculpted two monster statues, one like a dragon, golden yellow, long with dragon scales; a cow, the mouth is duck-shaped.

Changbaishan water monster is questioned by the outside world

The water surface of Changbaishan Tianchi is 2189 meters above sea level, with an annual snow day of 258 days and a freezing period of up to 8 months in a year, and the water temperature is only about 11°C even in summer, which is limited to a few cold-water fish. Such harsh living conditions, there will really be a huge monster to survive in it?

There were scientific people who thought it was impossible for monsters to exist here. Because Tianchi is a fire mouth lake, it has a very short history of formation, and it is impossible to form a new species in such a short period of time. Moreover, the last volcanic eruption of Changbai Mountain was in 1702, so even if there were any creatures living in Tianchi before then, they must have perished because of the volcanic eruption.

Nowadays, there are a lot of cold-water fish breeding in Tianchi, indicating that the fish population has few natural enemies. Most of the eyewitnesses were far away from the monster when they found it, and it was easy to make visual errors. Therefore, they may see both the pumice or stake as the monster, and the cold-water fish that surfaced for air as the monster.

Although some people also took video and photos of the Tianchi monster, but because the distance is too far, the effect are not good, see not very clear, so these videos and photos of things are not necessarily what the monster.
