The author of this article likes to listen to the radio commentary programs since childhood, there was no Internet or TV at that time, although there were newspapers, but whether it was the People's Daily or Hubei Daily or Yangtze River Daily, it was already ten and a half days later when it reached the readers, and the radio was the only way to learn about new things in the world in a family. When we came home from school for lunch, the first thing we did was to turn on the radio and listen to the broadcast, which received the best signal from only the Central People's Broadcasting Station. At this time of the day, the Central Radio would broadcast programs such as "The Complete Story of Yue", and before the commentary was broadcast was the weather forecast on the Central People's Radio. After the weather forecast is broadcasted is the water level bulletin, this segment of the program will mention every day "Jianghan", "Jianghuai", "Jiangnan" and "Han River Hanchuan "Today we will talk about which areas are referred to in general, such as "Jianghan", "Jianghuai" and "Jiangnan".

"Jianghan" refers to the vast Jianghan Plain formed by the Yangtze River and the Han River (also called Hanshui). It is located in the central and western part of the plain between the two lakes (not the lakes here but the two provinces of Hubei and Hunan). The Jianghan Plain extends from Yichang Zhijiang River in the west to Wuhan, the largest city in central China, in the east, to Zhongxiang in the north, and to the Dongting Lake Plain in the south. With an area of 46,000 square kilometers, it is one of the famous granaries of China. The folk saying "When the lake is ripe, the world is full" means that when the rich Jianghan Plain and the Dongting Lake Plain are ripe, the world will have food to eat.

Hubei is also known as the province of a thousand lakes, and a large part of the thousand lakes in Hubei are on the Jianghan Plain, Wuhan, Xiangyang, Yichang, Jingzhou, Jingmen and other cities in Hubei Province with developed economy and transportation are in this area, is the pillar of economic development in Hubei.

And where does "JAC" refer to? "It is a large area between the Yangtze River and the Huai River, located in the southern part of Henan Province, Jiangsu Province, and Anhui Province, south of the Huai River and north of the Yangtze River. The terrain here is formed by alluvial deposits of the Yangtze and Huai rivers. The major cities in this area are Hefei, Yangzhou, Taizhou, Nantong, Yancheng, Huai'an, Huainan, Chuzhou, Liuan, Xinyang, etc. As a relatively small amount of water resources in Henan Province has Xinyang on the list, indicating that Xinyang in Henan Province is a city closer to the border of Hubei and Anhui from the Yangtze River and Huai River.

The entire JAC region is relatively low-lying, with elevations generally below 10 meters. There is a dense network of water and many lakes. Among them, Hongze Lake, Baima Lake, Baoying Lake, Gaoyou Lake and Shaobo Lake are the five famous lakes in Jianghuai region. The economic situation of the region is that there is no core key city that can lead the regional economic development.

The name "Jiangnan" has been famous since ancient times for its beautiful mountains and picturesque scenery, rich history and humanities, and romantic stories of talented men and women. "Jiangnan" originally meant the entire area south of the Yangtze River, but this area is too large. Yangtze River is China's first river (river), 6300 km long, originated in Qinghai Province, flowing through Sichuan Province, Tibet Autonomous Region, Yunnan Province, Chongqing Municipality, Hubei Province, Hunan Province, Jiangxi Province, Anhui Province, Jiangsu Province and Shanghai, in Shanghai Chongming County into the East China Sea. If we say "Jiangnan" in a broad sense, Suzhou's spring season, may be Qinghai, Tibet's snowy time, so we agreed to delineate the "Jiangnan" region in a narrow sense, that is, the lower reaches of the Yangtze River Basin, the southern coast of Zhejiang, southern Jiangsu and Shanghai area, but there will be the northern areas of Jiangxi, Anhui south of the Yangtze River area also counted to the "Jiangnan" area, but Zhejiang, southern Jiangsu and Shanghai area was designated as the "original inhabitants" of Jiangnan.
