The uninhabited central region of the Taklamakan Desert is home to a multi-person village, so where exactly did this mysterious village come from?
The Taklamakan Desert, the largest desert in northwest China, is one of the largest deserts in China and even in the world. The Taklamakan Desert is 1,000 kilometers long from east to west and about 400 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 330,000 square hectares. Such a desert is also known as the "Sea of Death", the Taklamakan Desert annual rainfall of less than 100 mm, and the year-round warm, the highest temperature can reach 39 degrees Celsius.
But even so, during the day, the Taklamakan Desert can be subjected to the full range of sunlight, so the temperature of the sand surface can be as high as 70 to 80 degrees, and if this area is said to be inhabited, I believe many people do not believe it.
But located in the hinterland of the second largest mobile desert in the world, there has always existed an isolated and primitive village, Dariyabui.
Unlike the hot desert climate of the Taklamakan, Dariyabui has an abundance of water and a vibrant landscape, just like a paradise.
This village was not recorded in China's thousands of years of history until 1895, when a Swedish desert explorer trekked across the Taklamakan, a sea of death, and finally arrived at this primitive village called Dariyabui.
But at first the village was not called this name, but Tungusbazit, which means the place where the wild boar hanged, and this is the first time the world stepped into this paradise.
It was not until the 1950s that an expedition was organized to visit this village on the ground, and it was finally renamed Dariyabui, which means the place with the river, according to the expressions of the local people.
Since then this isolated and primitive village has been officially included in the administrative planning system of China.
There is an isolated village in the center of the Taklamakan Desert named Dariyabui, but we all know that the Taklamakan is a "sea of death" and there are few traces of human beings, so how did this rich primitive village in the center of the desert actually form?
In fact, scientists still do not have a definite conclusion about how the original village of Dariyabui was formed.
And the only kind of conclusion indicates that the development of the original village of Dariyabui was actually formed by the flow of the Kriya River through this area, which finally converged into a river.
The Kriya River is a river originating from the Tarim Basin in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, 530 kilometers long. The source of the river is the snow water melted on the Kunlun Mountains, while the main channel of its river penetrates deep into the hinterland of the Taklamakan Desert and finally disappears near Dariyabui.
But the surface riverbed of this river in the Taklamakan region actually dried up long ago, but the reason why there is still water in this primitive village of Dariyabui is most likely that the river was diverted to become groundwater, reducing evaporation to eventually reach this place.
The cause of the oasis in the desert is explained, so how did the villagers here in Dariyabui come to be?
We all know that the Taklamakan Desert actually flourished a long time ago, and the most well-known is the ancient city of Loulan, but with the deterioration of the environment, these ancient cities were gradually buried, and the indigenous people had to migrate, and finally part of the people reached the Xinjiang basin became the current residents of Xinjiang, while the other part continued to explore the desert hinterland, and finally took root in this area of Dariyabui.
And according to the corresponding researcher, there is no big difference between the Daryabuyi and the present Xinjiang people in terms of dressing style and even looks, and the ancient Silk Road South Road is through here, so it is very likely that the Daryabuyi and the present Xinjiang people belonged to the same clan thousands of years ago.
Of course, because of the interference of various factors, there is no definite official conclusion on this, so the origin of the Daryabuyi people is still a mystery.
The isolated paradise of Dariyabui in the heart of the Taklamakan Desert is no longer closed. What special habits do the villagers have in this mysterious desert village?
The people of Dariya Buyi village actually live a very simple life, because of the lack of water, so they have learned to ensure the daily use of water by digging wells to store water, and they also make flexible use of the surrounding poplar wood to build houses, and even make furniture from poplar wood.
At the same time because of the lack of local water, so their cooking method is also special, cooking, they will preheat the sand in advance, and then the sub cooking food wrapped, buried inside the hot sand will be slowly simmered.
And researchers found that a local cuisine and Xinjiang's belly chicken is very similar, are the ingredients wrapped in sheep belly inside, and then buried in the soil and stewed, and then finally cut open the belly with a knife to taste the delicious inside.
In addition to the very interesting food culture of the people in the Dariya Buyi villages, their wedding and funeral culture is also rather special.
When a man and a woman are getting married, they notify their friends and relatives a month in advance so that they can prepare in advance to come to the wedding banquet, and the wedding will last for several days, and when the wedding is held, people sing and dance together and enjoy the food together.
And when a married woman turns 35, her husband holds a rite of passage for her, announcing that his wife has become a young woman.
After the death of the local tribesmen, they will put the body of the deceased into a coffin made of poplar wood and bury it with sand and soil after the funeral in the mosque.
The original inhabitants of the Daryabuyi villages are kind and simple, and although the living conditions are hard, they have not lost any enthusiasm for life, and that's what we should learn from!
