Remember the Escobar Fold, the cheap folding phone from Pablo Escobar’s brother? Yeah, that story gets weirder. The phone already has a second generation ready to go at just $399.
Escobar Fold 2
The Escobar Fold 2 is slightly more premium than its predecessor, which cost just $349 when it launched. The Fold 2 is instead opting for a slightly higher $399 price point, which still seriously undercuts the competition from Samsung and Huawei.
The specs aren’t bad, either, although they are very likely exaggerated in the press release. I’ll just let you read what Escobar’s company says about their phone.
The phone specifications are impressive, featuring Android 10.0 OS, Blazingly Fast Octa-Core 2.84Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 CPU 64-Bit Arm LTE, Powerful gaming-ready Qualcomm Adreno 640 GPU, An Astonishing Five cameras (16/12/12/10/8 megapixels), 7.3 inches Dynamic Amoled 2152 x 1536 (QXGA+) screen when folded and a 4,380 mAh battery.
Those specifications are impressive, if we’re being honest, since it does run Android 10 out of the box. The CPU seems a little choppy, simply mentioning a “Snapdragon 8 CPU 64-bit Arm LTE,” but since it immediately mentions an Adreno 640 GPU we can generally assume they mean a Snapdragon 855 CPU. That’s pretty crazy for $400, right, especially considering the phone looks almost identical to a Galaxy Fold at a fraction of the price!

A big reason behind the pricing being too good to be true is that, well, it probably is. The Escobar Fold 1 never shipped, despite the company taking pre-orders for it, and it is very likely that’s going to happen again.
Feel free to send your $400 over to this phone if you want, but we’re going to strongly recommend you do literally anything else with that money.
