When it comes to tourism in Shandong, many people are the first to think of Qingdao and Yantai, today we recommend a city where food, beauty, humanities and history are not lacking: Jining!
Jining, I have been there twice. The first time I went to Qufu, the hometown of Confucius and Mencius, and the Water Park. At that time I thought Jining probably style may be so, to be honest this time again to Jining, found myself really ignorant. Personally, I think that Jining is a seriously underrated tourist city, but many people do not understand.
Jining has a deep humanistic history and culture, and the Shandong section of the Grand Canal flows through five cities, namely Zaozhuang, Jining, Tai'an, Liaocheng and Dezhou, with a total length of 643 kilometers. When you come to Jining, you can visit everything about the Grand Canal related to humanities, historical landscapes and natural landscapes.
1. In downtown Jining, you can take a boat trip on the old canal at night to feel the memory of the canal. At the end of the boat trip to the riverside night market to jerk off and drink beer, Jining's nightlife is very rich, feeling very similar to our Sichuan and Chongqing areas.
The cruise boat sits at the dock of the East Dashi Bridge, west to the Huitong Bridge, with a total length of about 2.1 kilometers. There are sculling boats and two kinds of boats at the pier. The sculling boat is relatively small, about seven or eight people can sit, hanging red lanterns on the boat, especially the feeling, very suitable for taking pictures, but we must always pay attention to maintain balance.
The boat cruise is bigger and carries more passengers. Personally, I prefer sculling boats, especially if wearing cheongsam to take pictures, especially beautiful!
Sitting in a sculling boat, listening to a small song, a slow departure, through one bridge after another, feel the night prosperity on both sides of the ancient canal of Jining, really too beautiful! The fantastic and gorgeous lights on both sides of the canal, the locals walking leisurely or walking their dogs, this is the slow life in Jining, just like the sculling boat, so relaxing!
Daytime ticket: RMB 20 for a one-way trip for adults and RMB 30 for a round trip. Children 10 RMB for one way, 15 RMB for round trip.
Night ticket: RMB 30 for a one-way trip for adults and RMB 50 for a round trip. Children: RMB 15 one-way, RMB 25 round-trip.
Personally, I think the price is more conscientious, and I recommend that you take the evening to see the night view.
In the Xiushui City riverside night market, about three or five friends, a little string, and a few bottles of Taishan original beer, when a Jining youth, feel the thousand-year history of the ancient canal, while eating and talking, so comfortable!
Local friends say that Taishan Original Beer is the only beer brand in Shandong that has not been acquired by Tsingtao Beer. In addition, fresh garlic mixed with egg is also a local specialty, so you can try it. Personally, I am not used to eating it, the raw garlic taste is too strong and a bit spicy, but northern friends should have no problem eating it.
2. the ancient town of Nanyang, a place I highly recommend.
Nanyang Ancient Town, located in Weishan Lake, Weishan County, Jining, is an island in a lake that can only be reached by boat, which is the only way to get around, and the ancient Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs through the town.
The ancient town of Nanyang has a history of more than 2,200 years. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Nanyang was known as one of the "Four Famous Towns of the Canal" along with Yangzhou, Zhenjiang and Xiazhen. As one of the "Four Famous Canal Towns", Nanyang was once an important commercial port and was very prosperous in the past.
The whole ancient town is very original, not overly commercial development, the town is basically indigenous people. The villagers here live near the water and live a self-sufficient life with boats instead of walking.
Catching fish, catching river food, picking lotus seeds, etc., villagers enjoy the gifts of nature while exchanging them for a certain amount of money. In summer, lotus flowers are in full bloom here, which is very beautiful.
Ancient town prices are cheap, lotus leaf eggs sold for 1.5 yuan, lotus leaf tea 10 yuan 4 packets, a century-old store Qianlong imperial cake sold for only 3 yuan, a very large one. Ancient town restaurant a potato shreds only 8 yuan, cold cucumber 8 yuan, cumin chicken pieces 25 yuan, the ground pot fish is only 38 yuan ...... I have not seen such cheap prices for a long time!
There are many small dried fish and air-dried fish sold in the old town, which are made by the villagers themselves after catching fish from the lake, very original. Many old people also woven bushes, baskets and baskets for sale.
You can watch the fish eagle show at the ancient town pier and experience the ancient charm of the canal by sculling boat. The river is lined with weeping willows and various pavilions and pavilions, which is particularly poetic and picturesque. It is worthy of the name "Water Town in the north of the river, the ancient town of the canal"!
3. Weishan Lake. When mentioning Weishan Lake, many people will think of the railway guerrillas. Weishan Lake is the sixth largest freshwater lake in China and the largest freshwater lake in the north of China, the lotus capital of China, the water town of the north, and the hometown of the railway guerrillas.
When you get on Weishan Island by boat, these are a few things you must do: climb the Wanghu Pavilion for a view, visit the Railway Guerrillas Memorial Hall, and eat a fish feast on Weishan Lake.
Climbing up to the Lake Lookout Pavilion, you can see the village fields on the island from afar and watch the blooming flowers, and the view is excellent. The key is that there is a direct elevator, no need to climb the stairs!
Railway guerrillas memorial hall, the real reproduction of the heroic deeds of the railway guerrillas to fight the Japanese invaders. Under the monument, an old man is playing "playing my beloved lute", the old man is singing while playing, full of stories.
Without the hard work of our forefathers, we would not have the happy life we have today.
Local friends say: the fish in Weishan Lake is even better than those in the Jiangnan area. We dined at the Phoenix Terrace Lodge on the island at noon. The fried small fish was very crispy, and the carp from Weishan Lake was well done, spicy and tasty. There are also fish slices, small fish balls, a table of dishes to make a variety of fish patterns.
The small fish balls are very tender and melt in your mouth. The lotus heart was fried with a sour and crispy taste, and it was the first time I ate rhizome, and the taste was very good.
4. The Nanwang Diversion Hub Project, which was hailed by later generations as "a water management project comparable to Dujiangyan". This is a must-see stop on the Grand Canal tour.
Nanwang Town, Wenshang County, is the highest point of the entire Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, which is known as the "Canal Water Ridge" and is often cut off due to insufficient water. "The Nanwang Diversion Project, which has ensured the smooth flow of the Grand Canal for more than 500 years, represents the highest achievement of civil engineering technology before the Industrial Revolution.
Today, people can come here to visit the Grand Canal Nanwang Junction Museum and Heritage Park. In the museum one can learn about the principle of Nanwang diversion pivot project and marvel at the wisdom of the ancients, it's really awesome!
5. Yangshan Port, which is an important stop to learn about the Grand Canal. I didn't know that the inland city of Jining had a port until I came to the port of Yangshan, and it was a real eye-opener!
Yangshan Port, with the advantage of inland navigation of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, has become the largest inland river port in the north of the river. It is connected to the Wajir Railway and the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, occupying a key position as a choke point for the transportation of western coal to the east. It can absorb the high-quality coal resources of Jin, Shaanxi and Mongolia, and is not only the main force of coal supply in Shandong, but also can enter the Yangtze River along the canal, radiate Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, and transfer Hubei Chongqing, becoming an important port logistics hub connecting the western coal source origin and the Yangtze River Delta economic zone, with a very advantageous location!
Jining, Shandong, a city with an inseparable relationship with the Grand Canal, where everything is closely related to the Grand Canal. It is said that where there is water there is life, where there is water there is hope, where there is water there is development!
This is Jining, a place where history and humanity, scenery and food are not lacking! You still do not come to see?
