Backcombed hair, bold patterns, and go-go boots pretty much sum up the 60s, not to mention the sea of drop-dead gorgeous celebrities floating around at the time.
However, in the same way fashion changes over time, so do the famous faces that were once so young and youthful.
Five decades have passed since the following 1960s stars stepped into the limelight, so it is hardly surprising they all look unrecognizable today.

Tina Louise Then

This redheaded actress and singer is best known for playing Ginger Grant on Gilligan’s Island. The show only lasted for three years (1964-1967), a memorable song lasted longer than the actual hype of the show. Though we’re pretty sure the film was remembered for more than it’s title theme with an actress like Tina Louise appearing in it.

Louise declined to participate in any of three reunion television films for Gilligan’s Island. Despite maintaining an adequate career after the show’s run, she kept claiming that the show actually ruined her career.
Joan Collins Then

Collins was born in London, England in 1933. She moved to Hollywood at the age of 22 and went on to star in a number of films such as The Girl in the Red Velvet and Rally Round the Flag Boys.

In the 80s Collins landed the role of Alexis Carrington Colby, in the 1980s television soap opera Dynasty. Collins won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in 1982 for her role.
Julie Newmar Then

Newmar is an American actress known for a variety of stage, screen, and television roles. She won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role as Katrin Sveg in the 1958 Broadway production of The Marriage-Go-Round.

Newmar went on to star as Catwoman from 1966-67 in two seasons of Batman. She made a cameo appearance in 1995 film To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.
Diana Ross Then

Ross was born in 1945, and is a world-renowned singer and songwriter. She first found fame as the lead singer of ‘The Supremes’ which is still to this day one of the worlds biggest ever all girl groups. Ross went on to have lots of success as a solo artist.

The Guinness Book of World Records declared Ross the most successful female music artist in history in 1993 due to her success in the United States and United Kingdom for having more hits than any female artist in the charts with a career total of 70 hit singles with her work with the Supremes and as a solo artist. Dame Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg, is well known for the role of Emma Peel in the TV series The Avengers, which she appeared in from 1965 to 1968, and an extensive career in the theatre, including playing the title role in Medea, both in London and New York. For this role, she won the 1994 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play.
