Tiananmen Square, which is one of the most magnificent gates in ancient China, has always been noted for its outstanding architectural art and special political status. So, do you know that the slogans on both sides of Tiananmen Square have changed?
In 1949, the slogan on both sides of Tiananmen Gate read "Long live the People's Republic of China Long live the Central People's Government".
In 1950, the phrase "Long live the Central People's Government" was changed to "Long live the unity of the people of the world".
Later, in order to promote simplified characters, from 1956 to 1964, the characters on the slogan were gradually changed from traditional to simplified, and became the current "Long Live the People's Republic of China Long Live the Great Unity of the World's People".
