Unable To Find Any Doctors, Woman Gives Birth To A Baby In An Auto

At times when the government is trying to improvise the current medical facilities in India and benefit the mothers-to-be, things remain unchanged in some parts of the country.

In today’s headline, a woman had to give birth to a baby in an autorickshaw because she was unable to find the doctors. The incident happened in Chhattisgarh’s Koriya district which is some 350 kilometers from the state capital of Raipur.

The woman was taken to Koriya’s community health centre but no doctors were available there. The family ran all around in a bid to get medical help for the woman but failed.Unable to find any doctor or help from the community health centre, the family decided to take the matter into their hands and helped the lady to deliver a healthy baby.

This incident once again shows the poor medical condition in India where doctors are unable to do their duties. Where doctors from Government department have earlier complained of working over hours, most of the patients remain unattended in India.

According to the WHO reports, at least 5 woman dies during childbirth in India. Around 17 percent of the deaths globally are due to negligence or unavailability of medical services. Reports also confirm that almost 45,000 women die due to childbirth-related causes every year in India.
