After taking a closer look at my last Vivo phone, or Vivo Y79, it has been nearly 5 years from now. Thanks to Sina Crowd Test, I got to experience a brand new phone from Vivo: Vivo S15.
I have not used it for several years, the first feeling is fresh, from the appearance, details, system and then photo, I feel that Vivo has done a very exquisite job, but also very know how to integrate mainstream elements and fashion elements. In addition, there is the very popular Snapdragon 870 processor, which also makes this phone like a tiger.

First, let's take a look at the design of the Vivo S15.
The box is relatively large in size, but the design is very simple, with only the word S15.

vivo S15, the maximum output power of the charger is 66W (11V/6A), which is still a relatively mainstream mid-range fast charging configuration for now.
Appearance-wise, Vivo S15 uses the currently popular mid-punch screen; 6.62-inch screen quality first feeling is very good, Samsung E4 material, the more mainstream OLED screen.
Some parameters of this screen: 120Hz high brush, 360Hz touch sampling rate, support 1200Hz instant touch sampling rate; 100% P3 wide color gamut, peak brightness 500nit, support low frequency PWM dimming + class DC dimming; overall use down, color, brightness performance is very good.
In addition, you can see that the bezel control of this screen is relatively in place, the upper, left and right sides are extremely narrow; front 32 megapixel camera, aperture control in general.

The vivo S15 is mainly a straight screen, and the overall picture is still good in terms of the configuration and performance of the screen.
If the front design of the phone is limited by the current technology, slightly ordinary; then the other feature of the phone, straight bezel really adds too much color to the face!

At the top, there is only one noise-canceling microphone, no infrared, speaker; therefore, the phone is not a stereo dual-speaker design, which is rather unfortunate.
At the bottom, Type-C connector + speaker, a more conventional design.
The vivo S15 comes in three colorways; mine is the "Summer" colorway. In this season, I feel like I can feel a little cooler with such a phone.

Nowadays, the main competition of cell phones is the design of the body, especially the design of the camera module. vivo S15's camera module, officially called "double mirror cloud window"; the module is large and looks more dominant; from top to bottom, the camera is a 50-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle and 2-megapixel macro lens. OriginOS | It's better to see than to hear, and the refinement is indeed unforgettable
vivo S15, equipped with OriginOS based on Android 12. before, actually read a lot of OriginOS information, full of curiosity about this system.
I believe that many people, too, are curious about this domestic OS. I share a few points that feel different.
First of all, it is still a very beautiful interface, which does not have to be questioned at all, the boot display is a colorful and exquisite widget of various sizes. This refinement, also carried over to the settings interface, weather, clock, etc., every click feels very colorful, and the transition animation is done very well.
In addition, OriginOS's unique morpher function is really novel. You can adjust icon size, text size, window style, wallpaper change, system style, etc. directly in the morpher, and the interaction experience is awesome.
Of course, there are many widgets (including widgets for third-party applications) for users to choose from. But in comparison, I think the current number and richness of widgets still needs to be improved.
I am very satisfied with the performance of OriginOS, it is new, beautiful and has excellent stability; of course, there are many details, such as the powerful Atomic Notes, Atomic Reading with paper magazine reading experience, etc. The innovation is also very well done.
One suggestion: currently there is no small window feature, I hope it can be added.
Performance | Not only the score, the important thing is the game performance, cooling performance and power consumption performance
The performance of the vivo S15, which still performs well, is currently in the second tier.
The runtime score of Rabbit V9, at around 750,000, is still comfortable with all kinds of large games.
Below, we will test the actual gaming experience of Vivo S15 at 90 fps high frame rate + 120 fps super high frame rate. Phone settings: high resolution + high picture quality. In addition, each time the test is the second game, so that you can monitor the change of frame rate when the phone is already in the heat. Total test time before and after, about 1.5 hours.
The first test: set a high frame rate of 90 fps for about 25 minutes, then start recording. 17 minutes into the game, you can see that the frame rate changes are extremely stable, with only one significant frame drop in total also maintained above 75 FPS; according to the exported data, the final average frame rate is 90.4 FPS.
Second test: set 120 fps super high frame rate continuous game for about 25 minutes, then start recording, the game 28 minutes, you can see in this i case, the frame rate has several fluctuations, but several times the maximum fluctuation is also above 90FPS, so the game is not obvious feeling; according to the exported data, the average frame rate is 118.7FPS.
As we all know, the current evaluation of the performance of cell phones can not be separated from the evaluation of heat dissipation. The high temperature of the phone will inevitably cause lag and other problems. vivo S15 adopts the "root system bionic cooling structure", compared to other phones, the coverage of the uniform heat plate is wider and the amount of liquid is more. Let's take a look at how the Vivo S15 performed in terms of temperature during these games.
Before the game started: the maximum temperature was 35.8℃. The reason why we didn't wait until the phone was completely lowered to the lowest temperature before recording is that in order to fit the user's usage habits, we often play games after brushing up on short videos or reading novels or surfing the Internet. This is the regular temperature after watching videos on a daily basis.
90 fps game for about 50 minutes, the highest temperature can be seen, at 40.6°C; a very good performance.
What is more surprising is that after 1.5 hours of gameplay, half of which was at a super high frame rate of 120 fps, the maximum temperature was only 41.2°C!
This year also experienced a lot of flagship phones, even including some gaming phones. Objectively speaking, the performance of Vivo S15, quite amazing, the cooling effect is really excellent.
And the measured battery life does perform very well, especially for 120 fps ultra-high frame rate games and online HD videos.
Photo Shooting | Excellent OIS stabilization, portrait highlights
First of all, the main camera of Vivo S15, the sensor is Samsung GW1P, 1/1.72 inch large base, 64 million HD.
In fact, what intrigued me most was the inclusion of OIS optical stabilization, which is only available on flagship phones.
Optical stabilization, you can take more stable photos, especially for sports shooting, night shooting has a great role. Let's take a look at the Vivo S15's nighttime video shooting, and a comparison of images taken by a phone without OIS optical stabilization.

Objectively speaking, the Vivo S15 is really a casual shooter with a blockbuster feel.

In a very dark environment (no lights on the sea), you can see that the Vivo S15 performs very well, with clear sea and sky boundary lines, clear edges on the ground, and islands and lights of distant sponges clearly visible.

This is a phone that is known for its looks, but is very good in terms of performance and video. The OriginOS on board is also the icing on the cake, and the overall performance is amazing.
