Pandemics have always been a “thing” in this world – they come and go every century.
Photographer Yuval Co and Art Director Roni Kadesh (The Fuya art Studio) joined forces over quarantine imagining what Lockdown could have looked like in a different era, giving the concept a modern twist of confusion.
“Netflix & Chill –
It was another solitary eve for Princess Eugénie, locked in her royal villa as her freshly discovered tuberculosis ate up her lungs from the inside.
Her zest for life, for voyaging across the continent and hunting in Bavaria’s forests, all flashed before her eyes – as she suddenly realized she might never leave this contagion-coated room again, nor ever see her beloved ones.
It would be just her and her dis-ease from now on, until the end.
“Well,” Eugénie sighed as she lit up her cigarette, “at least I have my delicious warm pizza. And I wonder what’s on Netflix tonight…”
Netflix & Chill … Think about it. What would you be doing during quarantine if it weren’t the 21st century?
– inspired by the true story of Princess Eugénie from the royal house of Beauharnais in 1847 Germany.
Seen through our 2020 eyes – Good vibes, bad manners.”
