Ursula Andress is often cited as the original Bond girl for her role as Honey Ryder in 1962’s “Dr. No.” Her introduction scene — walking out of the sea in a white bikini with a diving knife on her hip — is an iconic moment in cinema.
2. Eunice Gayson, 1962
Eunice Gayson, who played Sylvia Trench, starred in the first two James Bond franchise films, “Dr. No” and “From Russia With Love.” In her older age, Gayson appeared as the grandmother in Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods.
3. Shirley Eaton, 1964
Shirley Eaton played in many films before and after her role in the Bond movie, “Goldfinger.” In the film, she appeared as the woman painted in gold. Her part was so popular that LIFE magazine used Eaton dressed as her part on its cover for the November 1964 issue.
4. Honor Blackman, 1964
English actress Honor Blackman was one of Bond’s girls in Goldfinger back in 1964. She played Pussy Galore. Now, Blackman still acts and her most recent appearance in 2015 in the “You, Me & Them” TV series.
5. Martine Beswick, 1965
Martine Beswick played Paula Caplan in “Thunderball” in 1965, but this wasn’t her first time taking a Bond girl role. She had also played Zora a few years back in the film “From Russia With Love.”
6. Luciana Paluzzi, 1965
Like “Goldfinger,” “Thunderball” had to have a memorable and sexy villain, and that came in the form of Luciana Paluzzi as the SPECTRE agent Fiona Volpe.
7. Tsai Chin, 1967
Tsai Chin is a Chinese-born British actress who played a Bond girl named Ling, in the very first scene of “You Only Live Twice in 1967.” In the famous scene, the two of them talk about how Chinese girls are different from all other girls.
8. Karin Dor, 1967
German actress Karin Dor played the beautiful ginger-haired Helga Brandt in “You Only Live Twice.” Helga pretends to fall for Bond only to get the chance to kill him. After she fails, she ends up being killed herself.
9. Diana Rigg, 1969
Diana Rigg played Countess Teresa di Vicenzo, Bond’s wife in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” She still acts and is currently on the series “Game of Thrones” as Olenna Tyrell.
10. Lana Wood, 1971
The sister of the late Natalie Wood portrayed Plenty O’Toole in “Diamonds Are Forever.” She’s since starred in over 20 films and 300 TV episodes.
11. Jane Seymour, 1973
Jane Seymour rocketed to worldwide fame in 1973 as the enigmatic Solitaire in Roger Moore’s James Bond debut, “Live and Let Die.” Since then, she has worked regularly in both film and television.
12. Britt Ekland, 1974
Britt Ekland, a Swedish actress, was well known for her role as Mary Goodnight in “The Man with the Golden Gun.” Mary was Bond’s personal assistant in London and during a mission in Hong Kong.
13. Barbara Bach, 1977
Barbara Bach portrayed Anya Amasova, the KGB agent who has a competitive flirtation with Bond, in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me. Bach had a consistent film career throughout the ‘70s and early ‘80s. While she hasn’t appeared in anything since 1986, she married former Beatle Ringo Starr in 1981 and they live in the English village of Cranleigh together.
14. Carole Bouquet, 1981
Carole Bouquet achieved international fame as the vengeance-seeking Melina Havelock in “For Your Eyes Only.” She has continued acting in dozens of films, plays, and television series ever since.
15. Grace Jones, 1985
The famous model and singer played Bond girl, May Day. In the film, “A View To a Kill.” May was an assassin working with Bond’s enemy and killed his driver, but after being betrayed by her own, she joins Bond’s team.
16. Maryam d’Abo, 1987
Maryam D’Abo portrayed the cello-playing sniper Kara Milovy in the 1987 James Bond movie “The Living Daylights.” In 2002, she co-wrote and starred in the documentary “Bond Girls Are Forever.”

Carey Lowell began her career as a model before breaking into film and achieving success as Pam Bouvier in “Licence To Kill,” the second and final Bond film of the Dalton era.
18. Izabella Scorupco, 1995
The beautiful Polish-Swedish actress Izabella Scorupco played Natalya Simonova, a programmer working at a Russian Space Control Center, in “Goldeneye.” She collaborated with Bond helping him with his mission.

Fake Janssen played the villainous femme fatale Xenia Onatopp in 1995’s “GoldenEye.” Her career just continued to take off after she booked the role of Jean Grey in 2000’s “X-Men” and returned to the part in multiple “X-Men” films to follow.

Rosamund Pike’s first feature film role was that of the villainous Miranda Frost in “Die Another Day.” The English actress then went on to notable roles in 2005’s “Pride & Prejudice” and 2012’s “Wrath of the Titans” before getting her biggest break in “Gone Girl,” for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Oscar.
