Modern science has encountered a century of unsolved problems rooted in the regression of philosophical thinking and the limitations of observational tools that push the limits. The universe is too big, particles are too small and "photons are too slow", which has long been a roadblock to scientific iteration and upgrading. In the last hundred years, the above factors have brought scientific theories to a standstill, and the scientific community has quietly taken a shameful step - that is, it can only rely on thought experiments, and on this basis, deduce some unbelievable theories, and eventually lead human thinking to the "end of science "Theology. I. Who is the thought experiment

From looking at the starry moon to today's relatively advanced technology, mankind has never stopped experimenting with ideas, the effectiveness of which is demonstrated by the progress of production tools, stone tools, bronze tools, iron tools, gunpowder, electricity, each iteration has the shadow of the existence of thought experiments.
Western science (originating from Russell 1872-1970), based on philosophy, the Church and experimentation, benefited from thought experiments to build the spiraling edifice of science.
Three, two typical thought experiments
Western science has always progressed through constant self-denial, as evidenced by the development of geocentrism, heliocentrism, the absolute view of space-time, and the theory of relativity. In fact, the philosophical wisdom of the ancients is the repeated derivation of thought experiments, but it still needs to be proven in practice before it can be elevated to science. Thought experiments at this stage are still in the background, so much so that people tend to ignore its existence and fail to see the decisive role it plays, equating it with the personal wisdom of scientists.
Here are two scientists and their typical thought experiments: one is Archimedes' (287 BC-212 BC) principle of buoyancy, where the buoyancy force on an object is equal to the weight of the liquid it displaces. more than 300 years later, Cao Chong, who used a boat to weigh an elephant, had a similarity to Archimedes, who discovered and applied the principle of force equivalence.
And more than 100 years before Archimedes, the Chinese sage Mozi's (480 BC-390 BC) small-aperture imaging - in which a small hole is made in a dark chamber and a reflection of an external scene is projected on the wall of the chamber - verified for the first time the propagation properties of light. Perhaps from the beginning, Chinese and Western thought experiments differed, with one grasping the laws with a qualitative focus and the other focusing on mathematics with a primarily quantitative one.
Mozi is undoubtedly the first recorded person to study the quantum of light, and his discovery of the linear propagation of light is definitely considered the great god of human science. More importantly, his thought experiments have traversed the dust of history and profoundly influenced the development of human science. China's self-researched first human space quantum communication satellite is named after him; his thought experiment shakes out in the form of double-slit interference, and is still being repeated over and over again more than 2000 years later.
IV. The relationship between thought experiments and mathematics
Thought experiments are qualitative, while mathematics is quantitative. Because of the complexity of the objective world, making the abstract expression of mathematical formulas is not complete, scientific research will eventually fall into the basic cognition of thought experiments. For example, no mathematical formula in the plane right angle coordinate system can summarize the coordinates of each quadrant, which is far less convenient than the definition of "up, down, left, right" in the thought experiment.
Even the development of mathematics itself was not without the help of thought experiments. For example, in defining what zero is and how to break the taboo of "zero cannot be the denominator", the concepts of "calculus" and "infinitesimal" were introduced, which are not the results of thought experiments.
These two points are one of the major reasons why the authors do not involve mathematical formulas in the preparation of ideas about generalized magnetism, and also why modern science has to rely on thought experiments.

V. Thought experiment to catch the duck on the shelf
The most classic thought experiment of the last hundred years is the "double-slit interference experiment", in which the scientific community pays tribute to the ancient Chinese sage Mozi. Why is this experiment so important that it has been repeatedly verified by the scientific community for nearly a century?
This starts at the beginning of this article. Because the development of science to a certain extent, the means of observation reached the limit, the universe is too large, the particles are too small, the speed of light is too slow, the existing experimental conditions can not meet the needs of astronomical observations, instrumental observations and mathematical inference, it is increasingly difficult to verify a theory by experiment.
As mentioned earlier, the three cornerstones of modern science are: institutions (what Russell called the church, or what many readers call the governmental sciences), philosophy, and experimentation.
In this general context, it is really compelling that thought experiments move from the shadows to behind the scenes, lurking behind mathematics as the basis of quantum mechanics!
Six, double slit interference experiment
The double-slit interference experiment is still essentially a thought experiment that raises the subjective assumptions of scientists to consciousness, thus yielding results that subvert perceptions - for example: violating the laws of cause and effect by arguing that consciousness can determine matter and that our future operations can change the world in the past, thus achieving a divine effect!
With increasing recognition, the double-slit interference experiment made its way into textbooks and laboratories and became a strong proof of quantum theory. However, it has been overlooked that it is only a "thought experiment" and cannot be verified experimentally at this stage, thus quantum theory is a conjecture with obvious subjective conjecture. If we think about it, before the tool of generalized magnetism is found, quantum theory may be the best choice at this stage because the limits of observation cannot distinguish between wave and particle.

VII. The Ultimate Thought Experiment of Generalized Magnetism
The "Double Slit Interference Experiment" is astonishing, but it has many flaws and is not yet the ultimate thought experiment. A brief description is as follows.

The fact that waves and particles are not clearly distinguishable is the fatal flaw of the experiment.

This is the inherent characteristics of the thought experiment, once you choose it will have to accept its shortcomings.
Third, the double-slit interference experiment was in fact a successful marketing of science, getting researchers and institutions to pay for it between plausibility and falsehood. The authors foresee that under smaller scales and masses, generalized magnetism can reveal more particle motions - different spin directionality produces different particles, such as electrons, quarks and neutrinos, which then constitute the macroscopic world.
