Hunan Xiangxi - Chardon, a border town
A foot in three provinces of the border city style
The simple maiden, the old ferry and the naive yellow dog in Shen Congwen's "Border Town" make up the Chardon that we are longing for.
The Chardon built on the Clearwater River is less yelling and more quiet than the old town of Phoenix.
The life here is quiet and simple, the restaurant's employment in the small boat washing vegetables, panning rice, the cafe in quietly waiting for customers to come to the door, Lara ferry gently and slowly between the two shores.
Living here, getting up early with a bowl of rice noodles full of toppings, walking around the old town during the day along the green stone paths and chatting with the local residents.
When the evening sun climbs into the sky, go to a tavern, or climb a hammock and listen to distant mountain songs. Everything is so normal, and everything is so close to life.
