According to one McDonald’s employee asking for your receipt is essential if you want to guarantee yourself some fresh and hot food.
There is nothing worse than visiting a McDonald’s branch, ordering your meal, and receiving it cold. It really irritates you and then you have to make the choice between eating it, throwing it away, or getting back in the queue to make a complaint and hope they replace your meal with something hot and fresh.
Well, according to one McDonald’s employee you can avoid all of this by simply asking for your receipt when placing your order. Here is how it all works.
Between the hours of 12 – 2 pm and 5 – 7 pm it is known as the “Gapbuster Times” in McDonald’s. The “Gapbuster Times” is when the fast food restaurant can be visited by mystery shopper, known as a Gapbuster.
For those of you who do not know what a mystery shopper is, it is an individual that is sent to visit a store pretending to be a customer, in order to evaluate the customer experience and give feedback to the stores. Store managers generally go out of their way to ensure they get a good score, and McDonald’s is no different.
So when a mystery shopper shows up, they make sure that they are given fresh, hot food. The thing is, a mystery shopper doesn’t go in and announce that they have arrived. So what the McDonald’s staff do, according to this employee, is let the manager know when a customer asks to keep their receipt.
Mystery shoppers need to keep their receipts in order to be reimbursed for what they paid for. So whenever a customer asks for their receipt, they assume it is a mystery shopper and ensure they are given fresh and hot food.
So next time you visit McDonald’s, if you want fresh and hot food, ask to keep your receipt.
